Availability: Murdoch Campus (Internal and External)
This course is not available to international students studying in Australia on a student visa; it is available to international students on other visas if visa conditions allow.

Restriction: All postgraduate courses are subject to restriction.

This two year full-time course or part time equivalent aims to cultivate excellence in the delivery of patient care by registered nurses practising in a variety of settings. Students will have the opportunity to explore and integrate theoretical knowledge and clinical nursing within the specialisation of their choice in preparation for advanced practice.

The course is articulated with the College of Nursing (incorporating the NSW College of Nursing) Graduate Certificate in Advanced Nursing. The Master in Advanced Nursing is a 36 point course of which the Graduate Certificate provides 12 of the points.

Employment Prospects
Having been prepared for practice in the clinical specialisations graduates will be in the position to progress their career in a wide range of specialities offered by the Health Service.

Admission Requirements: Onshore course offerings
Completion of the College of Nursing Graduate Certificate in Advanced Nursing.

English competence.

Internet access is required for students studying externally; exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Special Requirements:
There may be a reduction in the choice of units if completing this course in the external mode. Access to adequate library resources and to the Internet is essential for external students.

Professional Recognition:
May assist in eligibility for registration as a specialist subject to the criteria in clause 31 of the Nurses and Midwives Act 2006. The course may be used as evidence in applying for credentialling with professional bodies such as the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses.

Advanced Standing:
Students are admitted with advanced standing of 12 points subject to completion of the Graduate Certificate in Advanced Nursing.

Intermediate Award Policy:
Students who successfully complete the Masters of Advanced Nursing will be awarded the Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Nursing under the intermediate award policy.

Students will receive 12 points upon entry for the completion of the College of Nursing's Graduate Certificate in Advanced Nursing.
