Professor Anne McMurray Anne McMurray is the Chair in Nursing at Murdoch University and a Fellow of the Royal College of Nursing, Australia. She was inducted as a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) as part of the Queen’s Birthday 2006 Honours. Anne has held a number of research, teaching and leadership roles in Western Australia and Queensland, and presented at numerous international and national seminars and conferences. She has published widely in the area of community health and wellness, primary health care, and in clinical issues related to continuity of home and community care. Her text ‘Community Health and Wellness: A Socio-ecological Perspective (3rd ed, Elsevier, 2006) is used widely in a number of countries to guide nursing and health promotion student learning. She is currently leading a multidisciplinary research program investigating biological, environmental, psychosocial and community influences on child and family health in the Peel Region, and leading clinical research studies at Peel Health Campus, most recently in communication during clinical handover, and exercise in renal dialysis patients. She has also been involved in women’s leadership development, including consultancies for the New Zealand Qualifications Authority, WHO and the International Council of Nurses’ Leadership for Change program.
