Dr Anthony Armson BSc (Hons) Murd., PhD Curtin

Anthony had a nursing background before completing a BSc (Hons) at Murdoch University. He then completed his PhD titled “The Biochemistry and Chemotherapy of Strongyloides” at Curtin University of Technology. He has worked as a Research Fellow in the Insulin mimetics group and more recently at Murdoch University in the Pharmacology/Parasitology research group before beginning his career as a Senior Lecturer in the School of Nursing. Anthony’s research area is primarily the examination of tubulin as a target for chemotherapy. His research has focused on pharmacological approaches to treatment for cryptosporidiosis, malaria and trypanosomiasis. He has recently begun research on the underlying pathology of Ross River Virus.
